Simple Makeup Tricks To Slim Your Face

Makeup can be a powerful tool in helping you look slim. Just look at any celebrity. Most do not look like they do on their own. Their makeup and hair really change how their faces look and draw attention to their best features. You can use some of the same tricks to make your face appear thinner. Try some of the following techniques next time you apply makeup and watch the magic happen. There are, of course, many makeup tricks that can make your face look sharper and thinner, but here are a few easy ones.

Contouring with Foundation

Choose a foundation two shades darker than your skin tone.  Do not pick too dark a foundation, otherwise it may draw too much attention to what you are trying to hide.  Start with applying the darker shade from the center of the cheek to the ear and blend in nicely.  Blend in the darker shade to the temples and hairline to give your face a sculpted look.

Cover eye circles

Eye circles can have a weighty effect on how you look. Cover under eye circles with concealer to hide them and blend your eyelids into the rest of your face. You can also add a white eye shadow or highlighter to the outside and inside corners of your eyes to help them stand out. When your eyes stand out in a good way, rather than stand out because of dark circles, your face automatically looks slimmer.

Eye shadow & liner

Apply your eye shadow and eyeliner in an outward direction. The motions in which you use the brush do a lot in shaping your face.

Highlights

The best way to divert attention from your rounder features is to highlight the more prominent ones, and this will help give you a thinner appearance. Using a light shimmer, dust a little bit under the arch of your eyebrows and to the tops of your cheekbones so that light will reflect off of your bone structure. The shimmer should not be too sparkly; it is best to find a soft-looking powder to use for highlighting.

Bronzer

If you're looking for a quick fix rather than a full face of makeup, bronzer is your must-have item. The dark recedes the areas you want to thin. Bronzer typically has a little bit of shimmer in it, and should be a shade darker than your regular skin tone. You don't want to go too dark or you will end up with streaking. It should be applied to the tops of your cheekbones, the length of your nose, temples and forehead. The right features will be highlighted for a thinning, sun-kissed look.
